Mardi Gras Heats Up Snowmass Village

You're invited to the 29th Annual Mardi Gras celebration in Snowmass, featuring the Mother of All Ascensions Race, kid's carnival, bead-throwing extravaganza and the most festive parade in the mountains. Then, into the afternoon and evening, enjoy the nightlife up and down the slopes: live DJ at Venga Venga, live music at Base Camp Bar, with Hurricane drink specials and a Cajun Buffet to tide you over.

Color and Culture at Red Brick Center for the Arts


Spring has least for the next few days. Celebrate the change of season and sunshine with another colorful art opening at Red Brick Center for the Arts. Presenting Czech artist Dasa Bausova and her latest thought-provoking Folk Art installations. Opening reception is this Thursday, March 3, from 5-7 p.m., at 110 East Hallam in Downtown Aspen. Challenge Aspen Presents the Chris Bove Memorial Uphill Challenge at Buttermilk


Coming up, it's Challenge Aspen's uphill race and walk-a-thon, to honor the memory of longtime local and Adaptive Ski Coach Chris Bove. The Chris Bove Memorial Uphill Challenge will take place at Buttermilk, starting at 7:30 a.m. on March 5. Skiers, snowshoers and all manners of family-friendly uphillers are welcome.

You'll climb 1,800 vertical feet to the top of the hill, with proceeds from your efforts benefiting Challenge Aspen's Chris Bove Memorial Scholarship Fund and Children's Hospital Immunodeficiency Program of Denver.
