Winterskol 2011, Celebrating 60 Years of Aspen's High LIfe

January 13 marks the beginning of Wintersköl, Aspen's annual four-day celebration of skiing, frolicking and revelry in the mountains. Since 1951, Winterskol commemorates the best of winter in Aspen: on-mountain activities, a parade, live music in the streets, special festivities at each and every mountain and, of course, a fireworks extravaganza over Aspen Mountain. It's been called a lucky date, a lucky time and we're glad you're here in Aspen to celebrate! It was a cold New Year's Eve, the coldest day of the year, but that didn't stop dedicated skiers and snowboarders from braving the hill in search of exceptional ski conditions!

Happy New Year to one and all and if you're planning a visit soon, good news: the days will only get longer and the temperatures are on the rise. Reserve your Aspen getaway:
