While Aspen Highlands only reported 2 inches of new snow overnight, up top they had at least 6-8 inches of new snow. The clouds parted just as the lifts started up and the sun was shining all day long which helped combat the slightly cooler temperatures.
Deep Temerity lift was running and fresh tracks were available all morning. The mountain started getting busy around 11 AM and the flow of people hiking up to Highlands Bowl was impressive. The snow up there was soft and plentiful! The North Woods were spectacular!

From 5-8p, do it all - free ice skating in Silver Circle (compliments of Aspen Sports), DJ, Bonfire, Snowman making, sleigh rides, bounce house and more; then, at 8p, the first round of fireworks over Aspen Mountain. DJ and bonfire right up till Midnight, where 2010 begins with a Fireworks finale. Be in the streets, at the base of the mountain, you can experience it all in Aspen, and all right near your home base at Aspen Square Hotel!
It's the thick of the holidays here in Aspen, a zillion things to do, all involving fun and most involving hot chocolate! Music hits overdrive at the Bellyup, with DJ Z Trip, Public Enemy, Crystal Method, BB King and Jane's Addiction, all coming to fill the 450 person state of the art club with revelers up to the New Year. And on the malls and in the streets, the Aspen Dickens Carolers, Hyman Ave Nights Live Music and Linda Eder at the Wheeler on the 28th.
