Approximately two miles outside of Aspen's downtown core is the Aspen Golf & Tennis Club. Rated the best municipal golf course in Colorado, according to Golfweek Magazine, players can purchase golf passes or pay a daily course fee to enjoy the Aspen Golf Club's critically acclaimed course. With its large driving range, the Aspen Golf & Tennis Club has the open space to perfect technique and warm up before a round of 18 holes.

Maroon Creek Club is located just outside of downtown Aspen, and extends across the Roaring Fork Valley floor from the base of Buttermilk Mountain across Highway 82 over to the Burlingame Ranch area. The Maroon Creek Club golf course, designed by Tom Fazio, is completely encompassed by the White River National Forest, providing golfers with the opportunity to tee up before beautiful mountain views. The Maroon Creek Club is a private country club, so in order to play golf on their course, golfers must be Maroon Creek Club members.

Situated on what was once former cattle pasture lands, the Snowmass Club golf course is located just below the Snowmass Village Mall and Base Village. The Snowmass Club golf course, designed by architect Jim Engh, specializes in unique and challenging mountain golf course terrain, making for a fun golfing experience in Snowmass. Public tee times are limited on the Snowmass Club golf course, and are offered only after 1:00 pm.

The Roaring Fork Club is a private country club located just outside of downtown Basalt with a golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus. With 18 holes sprawled over 675 acres, the Roaring Fork Club golf course is characterized by numerous stocked ponds, the Roaring Fork River rushing alongside the fairways, rolling green meadows, and stunning mountain views. As it is a private country club in Basalt, to play golf at the Roaring Fork Club golfers must have club memberships.

River Valley Ranch, located down valley from Aspen in the small mountain community of Carbondale, is an Aspen golf course that has been lauded by Golf Magazine and Golfer Magazine for its superb course design and unique terrain. From rolling former pasture lands to holes dotted with pinion pine trees and sage brush to holes situated along the banks of the Crystal River, the River Valley Ranch golf course offers golfers of all levels incredible mountain valley terrain. River Valley Ranch is a public golf course, and to play golf here, golfers need only pay a daily course fee.
