I-70 OPEN AGAIN THROUGH GLENWOOD CANYON!
AFter being closed for four days, the Colorado Highway Dept got the rock slide cleared and I-70 reopened with one lane available in each direction. Last week saw a shower of huge rocks and boulders came down on the elevated portions of I-70 through Glenwood Canyon. Severe damage to the highway was severe, and the highway was closed in both directions for several days while clean-up efforts and repairs continued. Traffic was rerouted up through Steamboat Springs and Craig, adding about 3 hours to the Denver to Aspen drive. The Eagle Airport was also on the other side of the road closure. It is all open now!
