Exciting times and competition at Snowmass will be the ticket this weekend. Upcoming – The Helly Hansen Colorado Freeride Championships in Snowmass. This event is open to skiers and snowboarders, men & women. Friday is the qualifying day held in Hanging Valley Head Wall. Qualifiers who make it to the next round will then pick their line within the Burn Side Cliffs on Saturday. Viewing for this event is possible on both days. Friday’s viewing is best within the Hanging Valley and Saturday’s viewing is best from the deck of Gwen’s Restaurant.
We have enjoyed beautiful, mostly sunny and warm days this week; but that seems about to change. Cooler temps and snow are expected for Friday and into the weekend. That's OK with us! Mostly cloudy conditions and breezy weather will be with us Friday and Saturday. Still fun skiing and snowboarding for all.

The Aspen High School skiers claimed their ninth state crown — and second in three years, competing against Colorado's best alpine and nordic high school skiers. Aspen took the team first place spot in compeition at nearby Cooper hill at Leadville. A star performance by Aspen's nordic racer Scott Lacy sealed the victory. The Aspen boys are the best in the state -- again! We congratulate them.
