A CHRISTMAS TRADITION

Aspen's Sardy House giant tree lighting ceremony last week is the unofficial start to Aspen's Christmas Holiday Season, and many locals were on hand to celebrate. It was a grand event. The lights change colors every few minutes, and it is something to see. The tree is a GIANT Colorado Blue Spruce. (SKICO, Dan Beyer)

SKIING ASPEN HIGHLANDS AND BUTTERMILK

highlands and Buttermilk both opened in mid-December, and the four mountains of Aspen are all operating for the season. They both ahave AMAZING snow conditions. And, it's a 50-year celebration for Highlands and Buttermilk! The bowl at Highlands is ready to welcome skiers with terrific snow -- and even more expected in the days ahead. Buttermilk is the home of the ESPN Winter XC-Games, and theya re gerting ready for it now. The half pipe is even bigger this year, and fun competitio is ahead!
