We are in the middle of a week of events designed to bring increased awareness of Autism to the public. Light It Up Blue Aspen is a collaboration with Nina McLemore (a women's boutique in the Aspen Square building), Kathryn Rabinow of the Ann Korolgos Gallery and Sentient Jet. Included in the festivities are a Prosecco & Bellini Bar, a photography exhibit and the Light It Up Blue Gala at the Hotel Jerome on Sunday, February 16. 15% of sales of Nina McLemore, Palaso Accessories and Kathryn Rabinow Photography will be donated to Light It Up Blue Aspen during the dates of February 10-17.
We've already got the romance of snow all set for your visit next week. Now Aspen's arts community has prepared a banquet of cultural events for you and your special someone. Thursday, February 13, the Aspen Music Festival presents the superb young pianist Joyce Yang, at 6:30pm in Harris Concert Hall. On Valentine's Day, February 14, you can choose between a performance by the singer-songwriting legend Judy Collins at 8pm at the Wheeler Opera House or the Aspen Santa Fe Ballet's Valentine's concert at 7:30pm at the Aspen District Theater.
The Aspen Writers' Foundation continues its Winter Words series of author presentations at 6pm on Saturday, February 8 at Paepcke Auditorium. Best-selling authors Dani Shapiro and Nick Flynn, will talk about their dual careers in memoir and novel-writing and their creative processes in a free-wheeling discussion. Prepare to be fascinated!
