Renowned nature photographer John Fielder will appear at the Wheeler Opera House tonight at 7pm. Fielder, who has spent the last two decades capturing Colorado's beautiful open lands purchased with the help of Great Outdoors Colorado Lottery funds, will present a slide show and lecture. The excitement of the FIS Winternational this past weekend continues with the multi-day NORAM FIS ski racing events on Aspen Mountain. Using the World Cup course, some of the world's fastest men and women technical skiers have been streaking down the Giant Slalom course. Racers include AVSC alums Devin Cardamone and Amanda McDonald. We're so proud of both of them!
Aspen Square is proud to once again be hosting the women of the US Ski Team as the FIS World Cup races take place on Aspen Mountain. Today, visitors to Aspen have a chance to take a wax room tour, collect autographs from the US Ski Team members and enjoy a kick-off party and watch the bib draw from 5:30-7:30. The races begin in earnest tomorrow, the with women's Giant Slalom and the day will be highlighted by an all-day sponsor village on the Gondola Plaza, live music, fireworks and an awards ceremony at 8pm. And that's just the first day!
