Aspen Square Daily News
We've enjoyed a couple of weeks of absolutely beautiful weather and with our state flower, the columbine, blooming all over the valley, we are all agreed that summer is truly here. The pace in town is noticeably picking up with two early-summer events this weekend, Outside in Aspen and Aspen Eco Fest. Next weekend's Food & Wine Classic, celebrating 30 years, is our traditional summer season launch, and Aspen Square will be right in the thick of it!
The Aspen Historical Society presents its annual Schnicklefritz Party honoring an iconic Aspen character, Freddie Fisher, on Tuesday, June 12. The party celebrates Freddie with music, toasting, stories and the annual FishWit prize, awarded to the letter-to-the-editor writer of the year. It's a great opportunity to revel in a bit of Aspen's famous messy vitality! For more information, visit www.aspenhistorysociety.com.
Mark your calendars for the return of two great adventuresome weekend events in early June. "Outside in Aspen," sponsored by Outside Magazine, and "Aspen Eco Fest" will share the weekend of June 8 - 10. Both events are guaranteed to inspire you to get out and enjoy the environment and refresh your spirit, with adventure clinics, guest speakers, demonstrations, exhibitions and plenty of relaxing yoga in between!
