Summer in Aspen Provides Activities for All

summer gondola.jpg

For guests to Aspen and Aspen Square, the summer offers a limitless banquet of activities to enjoy. A ride on the Aspen Mountain Gondola is a must for its memorable panoramic views of the surrounding Elk Mountains and Independence Pass. And once you're on top of the mountain, there is plenty to do from disc golf to Saturday Classical Music (June 30-August 11)and Bluegrass Sundays (June 17-September 2) to hiking and snacking at the Sundeck. And if you're lucky, you might get to watch one of the many weddings that take place every weekend, too!

Happy 4th of July!

Runners took off next to Aspen Square this morning at 8am, participating in Boogie's annual Buddy 5 race - the start of our festive 4th of July celebration. With the community parade at noon, picnics in parks all over town, the free band concert at the Music Tent and dancing in the streets this evening, it's a great day to be in Aspen and to enjoy our small town's community atmosphere. We wish you were here with us!

As we enter full summer, Aspen's cultural landscape is heating up. In the next week many of our cultural groups are offering their first programs of the season. The Aspen Environment Forum, presented by the Aspen Institute begins tomorrow June 22. Jazz Aspen Snowmass presents the first weekend of their June Festival, starting tomorrow with a performance by the Dukes of September Rhythm Review. And Theatre Aspen, our original theater in the park, begins their summer with "Avenue Q", running from June 25 to July 21.
