Snow conditions on Aspen and at Snowmass have been surprisingly good for this opening weekend, and skiers are having fun! Thaksgiving Day was the official opening of Aspen Mountain with top to bottom skiing, and Snowmass has been open for several days already. Slopes were uncrowded and conditions were darn good for so early in the winter. We are enjoying a blue sky Thanksgiving Holiday Weekend. Come ski and snowboard with us and enjoy those "first of the season" turns!
The snow has fallen, and Aspen's snow blowing crew has been busy too. They are making final preparations for the big Women's World Cup races scheduled for the Thanksgiving Weekend. Members of the US Women's team are already in Aspen, training on the Aspen Mountain race course. Snowmass is already open for skiers, and Aspen Mtn will be open as of Thursday. IT'S BIG NEWS! The Aspen Skiing Company has announced that Snowmass will open Saturday, Nov. 19, with more than 160 acres of terrain, including the Big Burn. And, opening day could be a powder day! Be ready for fun. A winter storm watch is in effect from Saturday morning through Sunday evening, according to the National Weather Service, which was predicting 8 to 16 inches of snowfall for the area in its Thursday afternoon forecast. The opening comes five days ahead of the ski area's scheduled opening. Call us at Aspen Square and enjoy great early season specials! Great sking ahead....
