Aspen Square Daily News
With continued blue skies and sunshine, and of course great snow and slope conditions, there is a reason for all those big smiles! The groomers are the best, even as we wait for more snow -- expected later in the week.
This is Winterskol Weekend, with special events, fun in town, fireworks on the mountain and a great weekend for everyone! Our favorite is always SoupSkol, a major sampling of soups from booths set up in the street right in front of Aspen Square. Good food ahead! (SKICO photo)
We had mostly sunny skies this past weekend, with wonderful sking and boarding conditions and people having fun. From last week, there was still a little powder to be had. Anther monday of blue skies and sunshine will give way to more snow mid-week, and more fun times ahead. After the busy holiday time, things will move at a slower pace this week -- and no lift lines, something Asepn s well known for. What a great place to ski and board!
Events coming up include Winterskol, Gay Ski Week and the Big One, the ESPN Winter X-Games. January is a busy and fun month for Aspen visitors!
The New Year is upon us, and this whole new decade. The year is certain to be a good one hre in Aspen with great snow and terrific skiing and boarding ahead. The Holiday was celebrated with activities and music in town, and fireworks over Aspen Mountain at midnight (and a famly show at 8:00 pm!). It was fun to see those "bombs bursting in air" over the snow covered slopes of Aspen. Wow!
We approach this new year with optimism and the expectation of seeing many returning Friends and making new ones. Aspen Square is ready for the rest of this wonderful winter season! Come ski with us.
