What a winter ski season we
had this year!
The
last weekend in April saw lots of skiers and 'boarders at Highlands for
a few final turns and the final days of ski season for the mountains of
Aspen. The final day skiers enjoyed excellent spring conditions again,
under clear skies. There is still so much snow up on the slopes!
Skiing is over now until Thanksgiving. Check the live Gondola
Plaza Cam below to see snow on the lower slopes of Aspen -- finally
melting away, but slowly. What a great season we had this winter!
How did the winter season
go by so quickly? What wonderful skiing we have enjoyed all winter
long!

What a winter this has been!
The snow has been amazing all winter long, and as of this week Aspen set
a record with over 400 inches of snow recorded. It was an amazing
ski season.

We
welcome Frontier Airlines to Aspen!
Frontier
Airlines now offers 3 flights each day (5 flights planned for this
summer) between Aspen and Denver, and the rates are excellent. Frontier
serves over 60 cities from its hub in Denver.
United
continues to serve Aspen
United Airlines
continues its flights between Aspen and Denver, connecting to so many cities
from Denver. A summer direct flight will operate to Los Angeles as well.

Delta
from Salt Lake City!
Also, Delta
Airlines provides jet service between Aspen and Salt Lake
City, connecting with all those Delta flights at their hub there.

ASPEN'S
OWN OLYMPIAN COMPLETES ANOTHER WINTER RACE SEASON
Our
favorite Olympic Medalist Chris Klug brought his race season to a close
with two podium finishes in the US National Championships in Oregon in
late March. Congratulations, Chris -you are the best!
Chris's
season started in Europe in mid-October, and he kept on racing with events
in Europe, Japan, North America and even Korea. He still has
his sights set on the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, BC in just two
more years. A terrific season has come to a close.
More World Cup racing next year!
Chris,
we are so proud of you! Keep on racing, and keep on telling the world
about your liver transplant success!
Chris's
book, "On The Edge and Back" is now out and available through local
book stores or online with Amazon or Barnes and Noble. It
tells the story of early snowboarding, Chris's liver transplant in 2000
and his Olympic victory in 2002. The book is wonderful reading!

LAST WEEKEND AT HIGHLANDS
Aspen Highlands re-opened
for two weekends, but now it is over. Last weekend was a HUGE success,
and the apre ski fun was BIG! Skiers got their last turns up
on the Highlands Bowl under blue skies, below. Fun times!
A REALLY BIG SPLASH!
Our new Aspen Square pool
complex is open and welcoming swimmers! We have a new pool, two hot
tubs, new water features, a fire pit and larger deck area. The new
courtyard was enjoyed by our winter guests, and it is ready for our warm-weather
visitors! Below is a fun night time picture of the hot tubs and pool.
30 FEET OF SNOW!
The Mountains of Aspen
received amazing snowfall this season, over 400 inches! Even
as we closed for the ski season, conditions were just the very best. There
is still SO MUCH SNOW!

Aspen Square's lobby, open
to welcome guests this season. We are just across the street from
the slopes of Aspen Mountain.
This is the kitchen of one
of our Fireplace Studio Suites, a great accommodation for two people.
It has a full kitchen, fireplace, living room seating area and an outside
deck. Very comfortable, very nice!

winter, and he is doing well.
