SPORTS GO TO XTREMES!
The world's premiere winter action sports event, the ESPN Winter
X Games will return to Aspen in for an unprecedented fourth year. These
mind-boggling games will take place on Buttermilk Mountain from January
29th to February 1st. The ninth annual, free-to-the-public, winter action
sports competition features more than 230 athletes from across the globe
competing for medals and prize money in the following sports: Moto X,
Ski, Snowboard, and Snowmobile. Last year's games drew record crowds,
in spite of the cold temperatures. If you can't be here, you can watch
all the action on ESPN every night during the games from 9 pm - 11 pm
eastern time.

APRES X CONCERT
SERIES |

New this year! The Apres X Concert Series, two free concerts,
as part of all the festivities surrounding the Winter X Games.
These events are free and open to the public.
These concerts will keep the action and excitement flowing in
Aspen into the night with performances in Wagner Park on Friday
and Saturday, January 28th & 29th beginning at 9:30 pm. Friday
night will feature the Los Angeles Latin funk-rap band Ozomatli,
and Saturday's concert will be performances by Z-TRIP and The
Roots.

SNOW INCREDIBLE SNOW!

| A
great deal of snow has graced Aspen's slopes in January. During
the second week of the month, the ski patrol at the top of Aspen
Highlands flew the "Epic" flag continuously for 5 days, indicating
awesome ski and snow conditions! Following a full week of powder
days, sunny days with bluebird skies have prevailed as Aspen gears
up for the ESPN Winter X Games.

AWOL IN ASPEN

An
Aspen/Snowmass signature event, AWOL will create huge excitement
with athletes and spectators with a "wallride" right
at the base of Aspen Mountain, where athletes scale an insanely
enormous, 30-foot wall feature while the band Unwritten Law,
a nationally known punk band, plays on a stage above it all. Show
starts at 5:15 pm on Sunday, January 30th.

WINTER MUSIC SERIES
MOVES AHEAD |

Grammy
nominated pianist Piotr Anderszewksi makes his Aspen debut in
early February as the second instalment of the "Winter Music"
Artist Recital Series. The concert, second in the Aspen Music
Festival's Winter Series, is scheduled for Thursday, February
3rd at 7:30 p.m. in Harris Hall and will include works by Bach
and Chopin.

BALLET IN EARLY
FEBRUARY |

Fresh from their international debut in Europe, Aspen Santa Fe Ballet
is back with two new duets and a world premiere! Danced to Ravel's
Bolero, FANDANGO is a provocative duet, while Moses Pendleton's
classic SKIVA is a duet performed on skis! Also on the program,
the world premiere of a brand new ballet created especially for
the dancers of Aspen Santa Fe Ballet by David Parsons. Performances
are at the Aspen District Theatre, Feb. 3, 4 and 5 at 7:30pm.

LAUGHS IN FEBRUARY
THIS YEAR |

The U.S. Comedy Festival, sponsored by HBO, will celebrate its 11th
year from February 9th to 13th. Normally held the first week of
March, this year's festival has been moved to February but still
promises all the laughs as in years past. This year's festival
includes performances by Eddie Izzard and Colin Quinn, as well
as the cast of "Arrested Development" and a tribute
