    ASPEN GOES BAZAAR

With the blush of changing foliage and the crisp fall air sweeping in, it is time again for Aspen to go Bazaar! A MUSCIAL TRIBUTE TO JOHN DENVER

John Denver's music touched many people, and his spirit is still alive in the Rocky Mountains and in Aspen. Come to Aspen for the 8th annual celebration of the life and music of John Denver. Friends and the "World Family of John Denver" host an array of events from concerts to picnics. On October 7 and 8, "A Musical Tribute to John Denver" will be presented at the Wheeler Opera House. Former band members and colleagues will pay musical tribute to their old friend John with two wonderful evenings of sing-a-longs, laughter, and a few tears. Then on October 10, also at the Wheeler, Blue Tulip Music presents "Rocky Mountain High: John Adams & Friends," another musical tribute.

    MELANGE, A NEW VAUDEVILLE REVUE
An eclectic evening of captivating entertainment will be presented at the Wheeler Opera House on October 14 and 15 when the Hudson Reed Ensemble presents "Mélange, A New Vaudeville Revue." Jazz, tango, opera, salsa combined with comic skits, ventriloquists, torch singing and indoor kite flying all promise an evening of delightful surprises! Over fifteen orginal and diverse acts will be performed in the vaudevillian tradition ... however, this is NOT your grandfather's vaudeville!
    WARREN MILLER'S "HIGHER GROUND"

The first snow of the autumn season always gets people in Aspen excited about the upcoming ski season, but the event that really gets folks inspired to hit the slopes is the premier of the new Warren Miller ski movie. This year's film, "Higher Ground," is Warren Miller's 56th annual feature film event highlighting some of the world's best skiers and snowboarders, several of them local, riding in awe inspiring locations all over North America and across Europe. Screenings will be at the Wheeler Opera House on October 28 and 29.

    STAY & SKI

Does the thought of a Warren Miller film have you thinking of hiting the slopes in Aspen this winter? We have put together some great ski packages for our guests that include lodging and lift tickets. Easy, one-stop shopping - when you check in at Aspen Square, your lift tickets will be here waiting for you! Remember, we are just steps away from the Silver Queen Gondola on Aspen Mountain and only a short walk from the Rubey Park Transit Center where free skier shuttles go to the three other ski areas. Call our Reservations Department today for details and pricing.

    NEW ON THE MOUNTAINS

Already one of North America's premier resort, Snowmass is undergoing a renaissance. A host of on-mountain improvements will greet skiers and riders on opening day of the 2005-2006 season. The old Fanny Hill chairlift makes way for the speedy new Village Express - a six-passenger lift that soars from the bottom of Fanny Hill to Sam's Knob in just 9.5 minutes. The new Sky Cab, a six-passenger gondola, flies you from the new base to the Snowmass Village Mall in just two minutes. But that's not all! How does a 12,500-foot mountain top itself? If it's Aspen Highlands, it unveils Deep Temerity - acres of new advanced and expert terrain that will open for this season along with the Deep Temerity triple chair, which rises 1,700 vertical feet in 7.3 minutes.

    TO THE EDGE AND BACK

The General Manager's son and Olympic Snowboarder, Chris Klug, has written a book, "To The Edge and Back" and it is now out and available for sale online! It's an inspiring story of Chris and the early days of snowboarding, all about his racing and his two Winter Olympic competitions - and of course his Bronze Medal - and his successful liver transplant. All the details are there along with some humor, some profound times and a bit of irreverence. After all, he is a snowboarder! The book is available through Amazon.com or Barnes and Nobel Online.
