This Saturday, January 9, take part in one of Aspen's most well-rounded events; exercise, quality time with friends and family and hot soup, hors d'oeuvres and desserts from some of Aspen and Snowmass' choice restaurants. The 1.5 KM trail will be candlelit for even more atmosphere (as though a beautiful night in the mountains weren't enough!) Your $20 ticket benefits Aspen Valley Ski and Snowboard Club's Nordic Programs. You can cross-country ski or snowshoe, and rent equipment at the event for just $5. It promises to be another special, and especially delicious, affair.
It's the second day of 2010, and some nice flurries are ushering in a fluffy new year. New Year's Day may have been spent over a long brunch but the slopes are in fine shape for the home stretch of the holidays. Happy New Year to all, from your friends at Aspen Square Hotel. http://www.aspensquarehotel.com
An Aspen favorite, the multi-cultural Pilobolus dance troupe is coming to town. They've performed at three Olympic Opening Ceremonies, as well as the 2007 Academy Awards, with their innovative mix of humor, drama and modern dance interptretation. Pop culture meets live art; Pilobolus, at the Aspen District Theater January 19th and 20th, courtesy of Aspen Santa Fe Ballet. Tickets and more info, www.aspensantafeballet.com.
