Another groundbreaking program is coming to town, with the Aspen Institute's Environment Forum. Following the great thoughts of the Aspen Ideas Festival and a closer look at security with the Security Forum, the Aspen Institute and National Geographic Magazine now bring some of the world's more thoughtful experts to explore global environmental problems, and solutions. The public is welcome to attend a variety of sessions, including "Lessons from the Gulf, Rethinking the News and the Blue Holes of the Bahamas". The Aspen Environment Forum takes place July 25-28, in Aspen.

Jazz Aspen Snowmass presents a Free Community Concert!

It's an anniversary celebration - 20 years of Jazz Aspen Snowmass, 30 years of the Aspen Community Foundation and to toast it all, a fabulous, free performance by soul, rhythm and blues singer extraordinaire Ryan Shaw. As Shaw wows the audience, there'll be cafe-style seating and food and beverage for purchase from our area's local eateries. Just another perfect reason to stick around Aspen, just a little longer. The Free Community Concert aka "The Big Dance", this Friday, July 23 from 5-9 in downtown Aspen. More info, www.jazzaspen.org.

A summer music extravaganza starts tonight on Fanny Hill, and continues down the mountain to Base Camp Grill. The free tunes start around 6, with Papa Grows Funk. They're a staple on the New Orleans club scene and a surefire way to get the crowd moving on a hot Snowmass summer afternoon. Then, local rock and groovers Jes Grew will carry the torch down to Base Village, for music into the night. Join your fellow frolickers tonight on Fanny Hill, in Snowmass.
