Hickory House Thanksgiving Dinner

Tomorrow the Hickory House continues its annual tradition of offering a home-cooked Thanksgiving meal to the community. Owners of the Hickory House are asking for a suggested donation of at least $5 and the proceeds will go to the Aspen Buddy Program. About 1,000 diners are expected over the course of the dinner, from 12 noon to 5pm, but the line usually moves quickly and tables turn over regularly. If you don't have a plan for Thanksgiving dinner, this Aspen tradition is a wonderful homey alternative, for a great cause.

Christmas Bazaar in Basalt

It's never too early to get in the holiday spirit and today's a good day to start bringing the cheer. Basalt's St. Vincent Catholic Church is hosting its annual Christmas Bazaar from 9am to 4pm. Shoppers can find holiday decorations, chow down on lunch provided by the La Cocina cafe and purchase home-baked pies, cookies and fudge to take home. Santa's Secret Shop is available too, so kids can shop for their parents and family members. It's a great family event for the whole community, so stop by if you're in Basalt.
