Another 3 to 6 inches of fresh snow -- yea!

The mountains of Aspen reported another 3 to 6 inches of new snow last night, and today's skiers will enjoy a wonderful mix of great snow and mild weather. The weekend ahead looks to be mostly sunny and skiing will be excellent again.
We hope that I-70 will reopen today or tomorrow, and it will be easy to get here from Denver and from the Eagle Airport once again. Stay tuned for updates.
I-70 OPEN AGAIN THROUGH GLENWOOD CANYON!

Late on Thursday afternoon, it was announced that one lane was open each way through Glenwood Canyon. The highway is open again -- GOOD NEWS!
late Sunday night, a shower of huge rocks and boulders came down on the elevated portions of I-70 through Glenwood Canyon. Severe damage to the highway was severe, and the highway was closed in both directions util Thursday afternoon. Traffic was rerouted up through Steamboat Springs and Craig, adding about 3 hours to the Denver to Aspen drive. The Eagle Airport was also on the other side of the road closure. It is all open now!

Monday and Monday night brought up to 7 inches of new snowfall to the mountains of Aspen, and more came Tuesday night. Now sunny skies greeted skiers for Wednesday. We expect more new snow and more terrific skiing and snowboarding later in the week. March is always a month of great snowfall, and we will get more. Bring it on!
Spring skiing is just ahead, and we will be ready with excellent slope conditions, and special rates on our lodging and lift packages. Come join your friends at Aspen Square and have fun!
