Aspen Square Daily News
In the last few days we've seen a big change in our weather and it feels like winter! It's been snowing all day and it's piling up, even in our courtyard. The Aspen Skiing Company says the base on the mountaintop has reached 20." Time to book your reservation because before you know it, ski season will be here! The lifts open on Thursday, November 27, so give us a call to explore rates and availability (and get your gear ready!).
Aspen is a busy place on Halloween and today's range of events runs the gamut from cute kids parade to a Tower of Terror. Boo! Start your evening with an Aspen's Dark Side Ghost Tour presented by Aspen Walking Tours, then head over to the Square Grouper for the Local's Tower of Terror. Cap it off with a costume contest and performance by Danger Kitty at the Belly Up. And don't forget to spend some time strolling around town to take in the creative, silly spirit of the evening. Enjoy!
Halloween, Aspen's favorite local holiday, gets off to a great start on Friday, October 31 at the Aspen Fire Station. The Boo! Bash!, a Halloween Carnival, takes place from 3:30-5:30 pm and will be highlighted by lots of activities, including face painting, balloon animals, art, games, clowns, food and of course, costumes. It's THE place to be to kick off the night. Details at www.aspenrecreation.com.
