With all this new snow on the mountains of Aspen, we are well on our way to another wonderful winter ski/snowboard season. Early snow is already deep on Aspen Mountain,following amazing snowfall this past weekend. Remember, the four areas of Aspen offer uncrowded slopes, a huge variety of terrain and all the skiing you could ever want! There is nothing quite like Colorado Powder, and skiing under blue skies on the open slopes of Aspen.
Thanksgiving Weekend will see the return of Women's World Cup Ski Racing, an exciting event that has become an annual feature of early season skiing in Aspen. Races will be on Aspen Mountain, and all events are free to spectators. The fun continues in town with a snow "carnival" in Gondola Plaza, concerts on the mall, and restaurant specials all over town.
The Aspen trees around Aspen and up in the high country were amazing this fall, as they turned their yellow and gold. The colorful leaves are almost gone now, but some remain on the mountains around Aspen. We are enjoying the crisp, cool weather of fall. Aspen moves at a more relaxed pace this time of year and it a fun time to visit. With cooler weather now, there is no doubt - our winter ski season is not far off!
