Ski for the Pass

The 2nd annual Ski for the Pass Classic Nordic Ski Challenge takes place tomorrow, February 23 at 9:30am. Register family and friends for this beautiful ascent from the winter gate on Hwy 82 to Lincoln Creek, on the way towards Independence Pass. This fundraising event for the Independence Pass Foundation is an Aspen Cup Race Series event. Pre-registration is at the Ute Mountaineer today, with race day registration at 8:30am. More Snow Last Night!

For people who like to keep track of snowfall statistics, you'll be delighted to know that we had a nice little storm last night that ushered in some significant new snow on our mountains. Aspen received 6", Aspen Highlands recorded 7", Buttermilk scored 4" and Snowmass was the big winner with 9" of snow. Keep it coming!


Aspen Laff Festival Begins Thursday

While we wait for the next snowstorm to arrive, there are plenty of fun events in Aspen this week. If you're in the mood for some chuckles, the return of the Aspen Laff Festival, February 20-22, may be just what you're looking for. Now in its fourth year, the Laff Festival brings up-and-coming stand-up comedians to the Wheeler Opera House stage. Included this year are "Short Snorts" apres ski presentations.
