Aspen Square Daily News
Tomorrow marks one of our all-time favorite holidays, the 4th of July. Festivities will take place all day long, including our beloved small-town parade, which is packed with kids, plenty of homemade floats and an appearance by fire engines and motorcycles from the valley. The parade starts at 12 noon, followed by city-wide picnics and a free band concert at the Music Tent. Happy 4th to all!
It's an annual event in Aspen, an early summer gathering of great minds from all kinds of disciplines - politics, government, science, music, sociology and more. Many lectures and programs are available to the public. Speaking this weekend we saw Karl Rove, Colorado's Governor Hickenlooper, Gabby Gifford, scientists and journalists, musicians and more. What an amazing event! Thanks to all for spending time here in Aspen.
