To celebrate the end of summer, the town of Basalt is presenting "Pork in the Park" this Saturday, September 14. From 10am to 5pm local stores and restaurants in downtown Basalt, Willits and the Basalt Business Center will offer sales and specials. Then from 5-8pm in downtown Basalt the party gets rolling with a BBQ celebration in Lions Park that includes wagon rides and kid's art at the Wylie Art Center, margaritas, cold beer and live music by Soul Sacrifice. Don't miss it!
We want our arriving guests to know that during the next two weeks, the City of Aspen will be resurfacing roads throughout the downtown core and residential neighborhoods. September 5-10 sections of Durant Avenue (the road that runs at the foot of Aspen Mountain) will be repaved, so be sure to approach Aspen Square from Main Street. Thursday, September 5, the Red Brick Arts Center hosts a reception on the Red Brick lawn from 5-7pm. Visitors will enjoy free bluegrass music, food, beer and wine, as well as the current art exhibit inside the building, featuring works by Sara Ransford, Betsy Chaffin, Jill Oberman and Camille Silverman.
