Aspen Square Daily News
As the holiday season approaches, the calendar in Aspen is beginning to get busier and busier! Just this weekend, we have tonight's Aspen Summit For Life, benefiting the Chris Klug Foundation and a performance at the Wheeler Opera House by the fabulous Punch Brothers. The holiday spirit is invoked by two local shows in Carbondale - "A Charlie Brown Christmas and The Little Star" at Carbondale Middle School and a presentation by the Thunder River Theater of "Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol." For more December calendar events, visit the Aspen Chamber Resort Association - aspenchamber.org.
Renowned nature photographer John Fielder will appear at the Wheeler Opera House tonight at 7pm. Fielder, who has spent the last two decades capturing Colorado's beautiful open lands purchased with the help of Great Outdoors Colorado Lottery funds, will present a slide show and lecture. The excitement of the FIS Winternational this past weekend continues with the multi-day NORAM FIS ski racing events on Aspen Mountain. Using the World Cup course, some of the world's fastest men and women technical skiers have been streaking down the Giant Slalom course. Racers include AVSC alums Devin Cardamone and Amanda McDonald. We're so proud of both of them!
