It's a beautiful early summer day here in Aspen and this will be a great afternoon for a serene Roaring Fork River Float at the scenic North Star Preserve east of Aspen. From 5 to 8pm, participants can float along the gentle streams of the Roaring Fork and enjoy some of the most important wildlife habitat in the upper valley. Representatives from the Pitkin County Open Space and Roaring Fork Conservancy will discuss the history of the open space and recent restoration activities as well as help you spot the wildlife in the area. Bring your own flotation device and boating option.

Tomorrow, May 31, is a big day in the lives of our local high school seniors as they graduate from Aspen High School. Graduation ceremonies always take place at the Benedict Music Tent and are the first summer event at the Tent each year. Congratulations, kids!

Spring (and skiing!) at Aspen Square

Springtime is famously fickle here in the Rockies. Yesterday we had rain and temperatures are a bit cooler, but currently the sun is out and our flowering trees in the courtyard and around town are loaded with blooms. But the top of Aspen Mountain is still boasting about 56" of snow. So, from 9am-2pm today through Monday, you can ski at the top of the mountain, courtesy of the Aspen Skiing Company! Enjoy the springtime dichotomy!
