Aspen Square Daily News
Springtime is famously fickle here in the Rockies. Yesterday we had rain and temperatures are a bit cooler, but currently the sun is out and our flowering trees in the courtyard and around town are loaded with blooms. But the top of Aspen Mountain is still boasting about 56" of snow. So, from 9am-2pm today through Monday, you can ski at the top of the mountain, courtesy of the Aspen Skiing Company! Enjoy the springtime dichotomy!
We are delighted to announce that Aspen Square was awarded a 2014 winner of a certificate of excellence from Trip Advisor! The certificate of excellence "recognizes businesses that consistently earn top ratings from Trip Advisor travelers." We are thrilled to share this award with our terrific staff, who all strive to provide our guests with superior, friendly service. And especially, thank you to our guests for your kind comments!
The 20th annual Ride for The Pass begins tomorrow, Sunday May 18, at 10am. This annual 10-mile road race towards Independence Pass climbs 2,000 feet from its start at the winter gate, to its end at the ghost town of Independence. The Ride for the Pass celebrates and supports the hard work of the Independence Pass Foundation, which is dedicated to the re-vegetation and maintenance of this scenic part of Colorado. It's a great chance to ride this stretch of Highway 82 before the road is opened for the summer. Details at www.independencepass.org.
