Aspen Square Daily News
The skies have been clearing over Aspen this afternoon, just in time for an ideal summer day ender - the Aspen Science Center's Star Gazer Ice Cream Social. Beginning tonight at 7:30, high-tech ice cream will be whipped up by a physicist using liquid nitrogen and the kids will enjoy hearing stories about the heavens told by local Spellbinders and astrophysicists. Be sure to bring your binoculars and a blanket to lay on as you gaze up at the night sky. The event takes place at the Aspen Center for Physics at 700 Gillespie St.
This coming Saturday, August 2, is a big day in the history of Colorado's most-photographed natural wonder - the Maroon Bells Wilderness Area. ACES, the Wilderness Workshop and the US Forest Service will host the party, which includes plenty of live music, food and family activities.
