Fresh snow softens up Snowmass

The morning began with blizzard conditions atop Snowmass Mountain. The weather cleared around 12:30 and the afternoon was fantastic. Three inches of new snow softened up the bumps and made the groomers fantastic!

The holiday rush is clearing out which means less crowds and even shorter lines! Over 90% of the trails are open! Snow is forecasted on and off all week which should make for great skiing and riding all week long.

Aspen Valley Ski Club Annual Nordic Bonfire Dinner

Warmth by the AVSC Bonfire

This Saturday, January 9, take part in one of Aspen's most well-rounded events; exercise, quality time with friends and family and hot soup, hors d'oeuvres and desserts from some of Aspen and Snowmass' choice restaurants. The 1.5 KM trail will be candlelit for even more atmosphere (as though a beautiful night in the mountains weren't enough!) Your $20 ticket benefits Aspen Valley Ski and Snowboard Club's Nordic Programs. You can cross-country ski or snowshoe, and rent equipment at the event for just $5. It promises to be another special, and especially delicious, affair.

New Snow for the New Year

It's the second day of 2010, and some nice flurries are ushering in a fluffy new year. New Year's Day may have been spent over a long brunch but the slopes are in fine shape for the home stretch of the holidays. Happy New Year to all, from your friends at Aspen Square Hotel.
