Aspen Institute Welcomes the Outside World

After the ski day and the fun and the frolicking, Aspen offers the thought-provoking programs of the Aspen Institute. What a way to appreciate all Aspen has to offer, by turning your now-relaxed sensibilities to the matters of the mind. Aspen Institute presents 2010 Great Decisions Series, an eight-week discussion of key foreign policy issues in today's realm: Russia and its neighbors; the Global financial crisis; preventing genocide, conflict resolution tactics and peace building, to name a few. The Series starts February 2 and runs through March 23, from 7 to 9 p.m.

X Games fun all over town

X Games Big Air 1-10.jpg

Aspen is a good-looking ski town these days with fun in town and great skiing at thefour of the Aspen Mountain areas. We're glad to welcome ESPN Winter X Games 14 with some fresh powder on all our mountains. Granted, their job is to ski it off, but that's yours, too. We have a beautiful weekend on top of fresh snow over the past days. Be sure to take a break and watch the extreme sport action live, at Buttermilk. Compdtitions take place all weekend long. Or, catch the X-Games on ESPN at home, prime time. It's X-Citement all over Aspen, and a fun weekend for sure!

The GREAT Skiing Continues

The snow continued to fall all last weekend, making Sunday's trip up Highlands Bowl much more pleasant and the skiing was even better. Face shots all the way down through untouched powder. Ajax "opened up" Pandora's and there was thigh deep powder Sunday and Monday. Hanging Valley was skiing the way it should, soft and fun.

The X-Games are upon us, with events taking place at the base of Buttermilk all weekend long. Catch them live in prime time on ESPN azt home! Buttermilk looks magical and BIG. The excitement is building and the crowds are coming.
