Final Weekend of the Aspen Music Festival


Classical music lovers have one more weekend to enjoy concerts at the Aspen Music Festival and School. Tonight the Aspen Chamber Symphony plays at 6pm in the Benedict Music Tent. There will be chamber music performances on Saturday and the final concert will take place at 4pm on Sunday, when the Aspen Festival Orchestra performs Beethoven's beloved Symphony No. 9 with the Colorado Symphony Chorus and soloists. Peloton Aspen

Peloton Aspen, an annual fundraiser to offset the costs of hosting the USA Pro Challenge and to raise funds for the Aspen Hope Center, will be held tomorrow, August 15. The charity event will include a cocktail party, dinner and an auction. Guests can mingle with some of the biggest names in pro cycling including Tejay van Garderen, Christian Vande Veld and George Hincapie and help support the important work of the Aspen Hope Center. AREDay Begins Tomorrow


AREDay (American Renewable Energy Day) was founded in 2004, as a one-day event spotlighting the importance of renewable energy technology and policy in the US. 14 years later, AREDay is a multi-day summit bringing renowned experts in the field of energy conservation and technology and a concurrent film festival. This year’s summit, August 10-13 at the Hotel Jerome, will include talks by former President Jimmy Carter, Ted Turner, T.Boone Pickens, former CO governor Bill Ritter, Amory Lovins, General Wesley Clark, and current Colorado Senator Michael Bennett.
