The Aspen Center for Physics and the Aspen Science Center are joining together to present 2018 Nobel Laureate Arthur Ashkin today at the Wheeler Opera House. Mr. Ashkin won his Nobel in physics for the creation of "optical tweezers" - a laser technique that allows for a scientist to hold on to a single cell without damaging it. He shares his Nobel with two other scientists in the field. An impressive 96 years old, he is the oldest recipient in the history of the prize. Prior to his presentation, there will be a Physics Cafe at 4:30 and he will speak at 5:30pm.
