Last year in response to the earthquake in Nepal, local ski mountaineers Mike and Steve Marolt, founded the Aspen Alpine Club and its Nepal Relief Fund. The Hard Snow film festival was also established to raise funds for the hardhit area. And they did, to the tune of $125,000, which enabled them to purchase solar powered battery chargers for the villages. The Hard Snow film festival is back again this year with films being shown at 7pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights at the Limelight Hotel. Tickets are just $5 at the door and monies raised will continue the work on the devastated villages and infrastructure.
