Due to extreme damage to the roadway in Glenwood Canyon from heavy rains, we want our guests to know that I-70 through Glenwood Canyon is currently closed. There is no timeline for reopening, so all visitors who plan to drive from Denver should visit the Colorado Department of Transportation, CDOT, to explore alternative routes to our valley. In addition to taking Independence Pass into Aspen, CDOT suggests an alternative northern route from W I-70: Colorado Highway 9 north towards Steamboat Springs, Highway 40 west toward Craig and then Highway 133 toward Rifle. From there, I-70 East will take you to Glenwood Springs and on to the Roaring Fork Valley. For further details, our guests can call the front desk at Aspen Square - 970-925-1000, or go to cotrip.org
