Following days of snowfall, the sun has returned to Aspen and we expect more of the same today -- with a mix of some clouds and even light snow. Skiers and boarders in Aspen continue to enjoy incredible snow conditions again this weekend. Aspen has recorded over THREE FEET of new snow in the past seven days. With terrific snow and now sunny skies and cold temps, the skiing will be just the best. X-Games events are over now, and Buttermilk is geting back to normal; but the giant half pipe and many of the terrain park features will be left for skiers and boarders to try.
WINTER "X" IS OVER NOW; with the final day last Sunday. The annual winter games were a great success again. It's the grand event of winter - the ESPN Winter X-Games, in Aspen this past weekend from Thursday through Sunday. All events were staged at Aspen's Buttermilk terrain park area, and all competitions are always free for spectators. Events were aired live on ESPN and ABC and featured new competitions, a new superpipe, and enhanced coverage across ESPN networks. For the first time at Winter X Games, snowboarders and skiers competed in a giant 22-foot superpipe. Wow!
The weekend brought the excitement of the Winter X-Games AND 8 inches of new snow to the mountains of Aspen! It is cooling down noe after some very mild days, and more snow is expected for Saturday and Sunday. X-Games events continue as well. Watch live coverage each evening on ESPN, as skiers, snowboarders and snowmobilers all compete for X-Games Gold. It's a fun weekend for sure!
