April Events Spring Up!

As spring skiing winds down, there are still plenty of fun things to do in Aspen. Next week the Aspen Writers' Foundation presents popular author Michael Chabon on April 9. It's a great opportunity to see a renowned writer in person discussing their work and answering questions.

Aspen Film presents its beloved Shortsfest from April 10-15. Local film buffs look forward to this event all year and the tremendous variety of short films offered from 30 seconds to 30 minutes. There are few places where you can see these films and Aspen is lucky to be one of them!

Wintry Spring Day

A cold front blew in on Sunday night and we had snow showers yesterday afternoon. Today it is flurrying in town and you know what that means - it's snowing on the upper mountaintops. As always in the spring, our weather has serious mood swings, so the chance of snow is always with us! We're not ready to let go of ski season quite yet.

Oh no, only two weeks left!

It's hard to believe but the ski season on Aspen Mountain and at Snowmass is nearing its end. Just two weeks to go! Both areas close as of April 15, while Buttermilk closes on April 8. Highlands will remain open through April 22. How did it all go by so fast? We are stil enjoying beautiful clear skies,l lots of sunshine and moderate temps, with terrific spring skiing conditions. This is the time of year when you need to plan your ski day carefully, waiting until about 11:00am to go up when the snow is softer, and planning on stopping about 2:00 pm before it gets just too soft up hih.
