For a small mountain town, Aspen has a rich and varied history, going back to 1879, in silver mining, ranching, and eventually, skiing. Anyone can see this by strolling down Main Street past Victorian-era buildings such as the Sardy House and the Hotel Jerome.

The Aspen Security Forum is held every July at the Aspen Institute campus located in Aspen’s West End adjacent to the Aspen Music Festival grounds. The Aspen Security Forum is a multi-day conference that focuses on current national security issues facing the United States.

High-end boutiques and world famous designer names define Aspen shopping. Gucci, Dior, Valentino, Theory, Prada, Louis Vuitton, and Dolce & Gabbana, as well as local purveyors of finely crafted goods and fine jewelry, are all within easy walking distance of guests staying at the Aspen Square Condominium Hotel.

Throughout the winter, visitors to Aspen can enjoy free live music at outdoor concerts in Aspen and Snowmass Village. These concerts, known as the Bud Light Hi-Fi Concert Series, deliver high energy performances in the center of Aspen.

John Denver Sanctuary

Located along the Roaring Fork River, as it runs through downtown Aspen, the John Denver Sanctuary is a peaceful outdoor oasis that highlights the spectacular natural beauty of Aspen, Colorado.

The Pitkin County Library is a cultural gem. The library promotes reading, learning, and creativity for all ages. Located in downtown Aspen, the library is a great place to check out a new book, take your child to story time, and learn something new.
