Theatre Aspen, Aspen’s original theatre in the park and only professional theatre, has been producing high-quality theatrical productions in Aspen, Colorado for more than 30 years. The theater company is well-known for bringing Broadway-stature talent to Aspen for their summer performance season as well as year-round educational programming. Theater-goers can expect to see big talent in an intimate theater tent nestled in Rio Grande Park.
The Hurst Theatre, Theatre Aspen’s home in Rio Grande Park, is the second tent-style venue for Theatre Aspen’s productions. The small theater brings the audience and performers into close proximity, inviting the audience into the performance in ways that enrich the experience. A Theatre Aspen performance is truly immersive; you’ll feel like you’re a part of the performance as you witness every facial expression and character idiosyncrasy. The intimate quarters also guarantee that every single word of your favorite play or musical can be clearly heard.
Theatre Aspen stages at least three productions during their summer repertory season. Productions usually include one play, one musical, and a family-oriented production which are rotated throughout the two-month season.
In the expanded venue, you can expect food and beverage options to be available before, at intermission, and after the show if you want to mix and mingle a little longer.
