Tonight, June 25, Theatre Aspen opens its summer season with the musical Ragtime by Terence McNally. A four-time Tony winner, Ragtime is inspired by the novel of the same name by EL Doctorow, and concerns the momentous changes that took place in turn-of-the-century New York and America more broadly. Full of the voices of celebrities, anarchists, immigrants, rich and poor - the show focuses on three main characters and their experiences. In addition to Ragtime, Theatre Aspen will be rolling out several more productions in the next few weeks, including Godspell and the beloved drama, Our Town.
