We want our guests coming to Aspen to know that Independence Pass is currently closed. The Grizzly Creek fire in Glenwood Springs Canyon resulted in the closure of I-70 between Dotsero and Glenwood Springs. As a result, Independence Pass was overrun with oversized trucks and thousands of additional cars, leading to dangerous conditions on the narrow road over the Continental Divide. Please visit CDOT (the Colorado Department of Transportation) for the latest information on road closures before you begin your trip to Aspen.
