If you know your Aspen skiing history, you know that Aspen hosted the FIS World Cup Championships in 1950 - the first time the event was held outside of Europe. Well, the World Cup Ski Finals are returning to Aspen Mountain this week and town is filling up quickly. As practices start today, we're welcoming the cream of the crop of the world's ski racers, including Mikaela Shiffrin, Lindsay Vonn, Ilka Stuhec, Marcel Hischer, Kjetil Jansrud and Peter Fill. And that's not all - we're hosting media, press, ski tuners and technicians, coaches and followers from all over the world. It's an exciting time to be in Aspen. We'll be reporting more here throughout the week. If you're nearby, come cheer on the participants when races begin in earnest on Wednesday, March 15. All events are free to the public.
