If you're visiting Aspen this week, it's pretty hard to miss the giant yellow rubber duck at Paradise Corner in downtown Aspen. It signals that Aspen Rotary's Ducky Derby is almost here. The Ducky Derby is Rotary's biggest fundraiser of the year, and combines fun outdoor activies for the family, with the excitement of watching thousands of rubber ducks race down the Roaring Fork River. The daylong event takes place in Rio Grande Park and includes live music, youth group booths and activities, a bouncy house, food truck, beverages (soft drinks and beer), merchandise for sale and a silent auction. Last year's fundraising benefited 65 non-rofit educational, health, human services and youth recreation organizations. Not only is Ducky Derby a fun day, but it's also a great way to contribute to our community.
