This Saturday, February 11, the Owl Creek Chase, a 21k Classic & Skate Nordic race, will take place in Aspen. The Owl Creek Chase has been a premier Rocky Mountain cross-country ski race since 1985. The challenging course from Snowmass to Aspen presents the very best that Colorado skiing has to offer: tough climbs, scenic views, thrilling descents and excellent snow conditions. With a $1200 prize purse, prize money will be awarded for the Classic Race to the top 3 Men and top 3 Women. The Classic race begins at 9am, followed at 10am by a Freestyle start, which includes a 5K, 10K and two-person relay. Previous participants include Aspen's own Noah Hoffman, who is pictured on the right. Noah is on his way to South Korea for his second Olympics, along with five other Aspen-area athletes.
