During your winter vacation in Aspen, spend a sunny afternoon or a starry evening twirling around one of Aspen's local ice rinks. Take in the sights and sounds of downtown Aspen at SK8, race around the NHL regulation-size rink at the Lewis Ice Arena at the Aspen Recreation Center (ARC), or pirouette like the figure skaters at the Aspen Ice Garden.

The SK8 rink, also known as the Silver Circle rink, is located in the heart of downtown Aspen, next to local restaurant CP Burger and across from the Rubey Park Transportation Center. The smallest of the three local rinks, SK8 is an outdoor rink at the base of Aspen Mountain, with excellent views of Smuggler and Red Mountain. With CP Burger rink-side, skaters can break for a lunch of burgers, fries, and salads, or warm up with a cup of hot cocoa before heading back out onto the ice.

The Aspen Recreation Center (ARC), located along Maroon Creek Road near Aspen Highlands, is the home of the Lewis Ice Arena, an NHL regulation-size indoor ice rink. As such, the Lewis Ice Arena offers skaters plenty of room to practice spins and jumps. Also, local hockey clubs often play matches at the Lewis Ice Arena, so if you and the family do not plan on hitting the ice, catching a hockey game is always a fun time.

The Aspen Ice Garden is the second largest indoor ice rink in Aspen, measuring in at just under NHL regulation-size at 85' x 185'. The Ice Garden is located west of Aspen's central core in the Shadow Mountain neighborhood and is a popular rink for hockey practices and lessons, and can also be rented out by the hour for ice-skating parties and events.
