Playing tennis in Aspen is a year round activity, as the Roaring Fork Valley offers an abundance of indoor and outdoor courts. Still, the summer season is when the tennis scene comes alive. Expect USTA sanctioned tournaments, tennis clinics, and tennis match meetups. During your next Aspen vacation, play tennis on some of the most beautiful tennis courts in the country.

Aspen Tennis Courts

For tennis players in the Aspen area looking for a place to hit, there are a handful of public and private options offering Har-Tru clay courts and hard surface courts.

The Aspen Golf and Tennis Club and Aspen Recreation Center (ARC) offer public courts. The Aspen Golf and Tennis Club has six clay tennis courts. You can use a court for a fee, and you can also rent a ball machine. The Iselin Tennis Courts are located at the Aspen Recreation Center (ARC), a few miles up Maroon Creek Road just past Aspen High School. The Iselin Tennis Courts have one hard surface court and four pickle ball courts.

Located in Aspen's beautiful West End, the Aspen Meadows Tennis Center has four hard courts and two clay courts all available to reserve. The Aspen Meadows Tennis Center is truly one of the most beautiful locations to play tennis. Players can enjoy a lively match while watching the sunset over Aspen Mountain and Independence Pass.

Private Tennis Clubs

A private club, the Maroon Creek Club has nine outdoor clay courts and four indoor clay courts located across from Buttermilk Mountain. The Snowmass Club has thirteen tennis courts, including two indoor courts. Located in Basalt, the Roaring Fork Club is another private club with two outdoor clay courts.

Take a Tennis Lesson

For tennis players looking to polish their ground strokes and perfect their serve, tennis lessons are available at the Aspen Golf and Tennis Club. From adult classes focusing on the basics to intense cardio clinics, the Aspen Golf and Tennis Club offers a wide variety of lessons. They also provide tennis lessons for children ages 5–18.
