Seriously, what other small town hosts an event like this? The Aspen Institute, in partnership with The Atlantic, hosts the Aspen Ideas Festival each year. This event includes three days of Spotlight Health (focusing on the most important issues confronting the healthcare industry) from June 22-25, and a week of programs focusing on Global Conflicts, Creativity, Reimagining the Internet and more. Among this year's speakers are well-known writers David Brooks, Thomas Friedman and Frank Bruni, and TV journalists Alisyn Camerota, Katie Couric, Fareed Zakaria and John Dickerson. The public is invited to a large number of open events, for which individual tickets may be purchased. This has become one of Aspen's signature events and if you haven't attended before, this is your summer to take part. |
