All day today, extremely fit people have been popping into our conference room - they are all here to run in tomorrow's Aspen Valley Marathon. The full marathon route begins at Wagner Park (just a few blocks from Aspen Square) at 6am. The half-marathon route takes off from the WJ Ranch in Woody Creek at at 7:30am, followed by a 5K start at 10:30 at Basalt's Lion's Park. All routes are basically downhill, so race times tend to be fast. The Aspen Valley Marathon is a Boston Marathon qualifier, with an elevation drop of more than 1,400 feet over the course, past scenic mountain views and breathtaking vistas. With multiple race lengths, this is a great way to get involved with a very special event. Most of us who are involved with recreational fishing know what a reel is and the basics of what it does. However, we have many types of fishing reels, used for different types of fishing or situations. You might be asking yourself, what difference does it make what reel I use?
